Independent Machine Company is pleased to announce the development of our 2-Position a shaftless center driven turret unwind accommodating maximum 70” diameter supply rolls.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Independent Machine Company has developed another in a series of precision custom unwind/ slitters for narrow widths. The 24” wide slitter with cantilever-supported duplex rewind provides closed loop programmable constant & taper tension throughout the speed range to 1000FPM.
The double supported unwind with auto edge guiding accommodates a 32” OD supply roll of thin gauge holographic printed and coated film mounted on an air shaft secured in safety chucks. Adjustable unwind tension is controlled by a pneumatic brake though a load cell feedback system.
The exclusive IMC interchangeable slitting section accommodates razor, score, rotary die and shear assemblies. Edge trim from each side of the web is traverse wound. Entry and exit “S” wrap pull rolls have static dissipation and are the main speed reference. The entry “S” wrap section is direct driven and the exit section is driven through an adjustable clutch to provide tension isolation and adjustable “draw” control during slitting.
The duplex rewind has two flange mounted cantilever – supported 3” rewind differential air shafts with diameter measurement through layon roll position for programmed closed loop tension/taper control. Both rewind shafts have individual static dissipation and pneumatic actuated outboard supports engaged during winding and retracted during roll removal and core replacement. The finished rolls to 30” diameter are automatically moved by a motorized push off device at each position onto a rotating gin pole to simplify roll removal. The gin pole is then rotated away from the rewind and indexed from vertical to horizontal for overwrapping and finished roll removal.
Other features include machine mounted control panel, Allen-Bradley PLC and A-B pendant mounted Touchscreen operator controls.
